It looks like a very nice watch, great colors.

Do you have any concerns?

OP - Do you mean is a mk2 dial original on a 6m serial?

I have a one owner before me 6.2m 16750 with mk2 dial original to the watch.

Personally I think they used both mk1 and mk2 from the start of the 16750 production but i am aware others disagree. I am not sure when those who disagree believe the change over happened?

Yes im concerned with period matching of the dial and case.
Seems to me a mk2 dial should start on 8.2mil cases according to internet sources. However its good to hear of mk2 going on 6mil cases as factory original.
Thx

Assuming the period is not matching, would any of you buy this at 4.5k?

I would like to know the reference where you read Mark IIs were used from 82XXXXX and later. That would mean they were used on 16750s for what...1 year? Most that enjoy or collect the 16750s consider 84XXXXX the end of the line for matte dials. Some even consider it earlier than that. Either way, I do not agree with your internet info on the 82XXXXX production date.

I have collected many GMTs the past decade and the largest quantity of those were the 16750s. I still have an extensive collection of these watches and have studied their dates and differences as I collected them. The two dial variations are interesting for the short time the matte dials were made.

In the past, I've had private conversations with Marcello P regarding the production era for the matte 16750 dials. I was under the impression the Mark I preceded the Mark II but I will have to agree that there seems to be less and less a pattern for these dials related to serial numbers and production years. The dials seem to be all over the place and show up early or late. I've seem many very early 16750s with mark I dials, and I've seen just as many early 16750s with Mark II dials. Personally, now, unless I see something more definite, it appears that maybe there was no particular pattern for these dials - although it would make sense that the Mark Is were the first dials placed on the 16750s due to their similarity to the last dial used on the GMT 1675.

This is just one collector and enthusiast's my opinion and others might have a different perspective. Enjoy your watch!!!

Johm. Thx for sharing your experience.
I got the info from Orchi? an ex forummer...regarding the dial dates.
He also mentioned the mk2 dials .(not mk 1s like you said.)were more similar to the 1675's...

Im by no means an expert.m.but its comforting to hear from you that early cases could have mk2s.

Thx

I thought you'd mention Orchi. Even on his examples of Mk2 dials, 2 of the 3 examples he posted are on early 6 mil cases!
