So far in 2015...
The year is off to a good start with 2 new pieces joining my collection. A few weeks ago I picked up a JLC Deepsea Vintage Chrono. It took me a while to get over the "Deepsea Chrono" part as they don't really seem to go hand in hand, but I really loved the watch so it is just a name to me. Really wears nice, I currently have it on a basic brown strap and I think it goes well with the vintage cream colored lume. Normally I wouldn't be interested in patina'd lume, but in this case it just seems to work. This JLC has a domed plexiglass crystal that really ads to the vintage feel of the watch. Only drawback I can note is the lack of a rotating bezel. No idea why JLC decided to do this when the regular Deepsea Chrono has one, but I digress. Measures in at 40.5 and is just a great all around piece.
And just today I received a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms from a fellow TRF member . I obviously haven't had much time to wear it yet, but the initial impressions are nothing but positive. I am really happy how well the 45mm size works on my smallish wrist, the short lugs being the reason it works so well. The sapphire bezel has quite a unique look, and the watch appears to almost be "wet". And the lume on this watch is awesome! The BPFF is a watch I have been eying for a while, but always had reservations about it's size. And now that it is on the wrist, my concerns are gone. Please excuse the pictures as I am no photographer, and these do not do these great pieces any justice. But you get the idea!

Very nice. The FF is deceiving. It doesn't wear nearly as large as the size suggests.

I agree completely!
Thank you Gents! Quote:
Very true, I would say the VC Overseas at 42mm wears about the same or larger than the Fifty Fathoms at 45mm. Although it is obviously thicker. I had always thought that the VC would be the largest watch I would own, but here I am!

Great pair of watches there.
Going to be hard to improve on that.
