How much would this bother/conern you?
Got a pretty good deal on this watch from eBay. I own a Frederique Constant Moonphase already and know their quality watches. There arent too many out there for sale except grey area/AD's. This is the Worldtimer Manufacture limited to 1888 pieces with the in-house movement. The watch caseback number doesn't match the paperwork but checked everything and it is 100% legit. How much would this bother you? Paperwork says 58 watch is 04XX.

If everything is original and legit I wouldn't be bothered in this case.

It would bother the hell out of me. And if you did ever want to re-sell it, you'll have a much smaller buyer pool.

The seller said he bought it 1 year ago at an AD. Everything seems to check out dial, functions, straps, number on case back, and movement. The only difference is the caseback to paperwork number. I emailed FC but haven't heard a reply and there isn't a number to call. He said it is what the AD gave him with the watch. I doubt its a fake but you never know. The non matching numbers is bothering me but for the price I think I can get past it. He isn't a watch guy so didn't even know what an AD stood for when I questioned him. Prob why I got the low price is he saw grey market ones going for so low and figured his gently used one wasn't worth anything.

I'd ensure if it's 100% real; if this pans out, there are two thoughts:
If you keep the watches you buy - no sweat. If you're a flipper - it would bother me. |

I've handled one of the FC Worldtimer at the AD and the watch looks authentic to me. As others have, if you intend to keep, then no biggie. But if you flip it maybe a bit hard to explain and you'll likely take a hit on the price.

Internet is an interesting place...may be if you try hard enough through FC's collaboration, you can actually find the guy who has your paper work and whose paperwork you have
