80's ladies datejust w/engraving?
A friend recently showed me her 80's two tone 26mm Datejust. It looks like todays 179173 chjdj. Champagne dial, diamond hour markers, fluted bezel, 18kt yellow gold & stainless. There was "rolex" and "water resist" or similar engraved on the back. I have access to a couple of old gold 18038 daydates, 70's and 80's models which have nothing on the back. Like every rolex I have seen.
The watch otherwise looks legit and has lasted her a long time. Is anybody familiar with factory engraving on the back of these 26mm datejusts? |

Ladies DJ's were engraved on the back by Rolex for years. The men's were not..
