Submariner 114060 Serial Number
I believe the Rolex 114060 Submariner was introduced in 2012. Is it possible that a watch of this model could have an engraved rehaut serial number Vxxxxxx? That is V followed by 6 numbers? This serial number seams too early for the 114060 model and the earliest serial number I've heard of for this model is a G series number which may have been concurrent with random serial numbers. Thanks for feedback.

You are right, none of the newer subc's had a V serial, they started with G

Look at the bezel with a jewelers loop. All the fakes have silver or white paint in the numbers not platinum. The crown may also sit lower in the crown guards due the A2836 movement usually used...
Just some other things to check. But either way do not buy a suspicious watch unless you can check it in person and preferably open the case back to check the movement. |

Picture?
Same case used for Sub Date 116100 or a GMT 116710, so could be they used an earlier case, but highly unlikely. |

Thanks, folks, I was shown the watch by a jeweler friend who bought it and knows I like Subs. I'll try to get a picture this weekend - it looked very suspicious to me. The bezel numbers looked like they had a cream tint to them, not bright and the V serial really bothered me on that model. Watch also felt too light. He's taking it to an AD tomorrow and if fake, I'll post pictures soon.

Agreed, but just to add to the debate.. doesn't random serial mean random serial. It COULD have started with a V..

Yes, a random could start with a "V" but this SN is V followed by 6 numbers for 7 total characters. I think random SNs are a total of 8 characters (numbers and letters).
