Need trigger advice

I am in the market to purchase my first Rolex. Have been looking at the 116610LV and the GMT II BLNR. Any advice for me for a watch I would wear daily to enjoy. Ideally I would like to have both, but can only financially swing one for now. What are some things for me to consider?

Hmm...for me, it would be which one pulls at your heart the most. If that's a dead heat, then does one of them have a function that is more useful to you? Do you need a diver or a GMT?

Have you tried them both on? If not, I strongly suggest you do so. If you have and it's still a tie just know that you can't go wrong with either watch. They are both beautiful and classic, the Sub probably being more "classic" but that only due to the BLNR's relatively new bezel colors. If you travel a lot, the GMT might serve your needs better. In any case, you've picked a winner no matter which way you go! You can always get the other one later, right?

As a daily I'd always get a Sub first unless you need the GMT function

Both very popular here but LVc would be my first choice, out in the sun it is rather spectacular I found.

Would you wear a green watch everyday? Many say no and blue is a better fit and more practical...but only you know if that's true for you

After all, many people would say $8k for any watch is not practical. ..

Both are exceptional... what do you want to do with it? That should help drive your decision...

Since I wear a lot of navy suits and blue shirts I say blnr. But if I was going to buy one right now with my current watch lineup I would go Hulk.

But first one and only one, BLNR.

Since I got my LVc I've been wearing it everyday and looks great. And blue being my favourite colour I agree, but the green does look pretty special.

My vote goes to the LVc, I too was in the position of which to get and I went LVc. The blnr had polished centre links, which you might want to take into consideration.

Good luck with your choice.

The Sub was my first. No complaints. You (probably) won't regret either choice. Flip a coin!

That is a common question but only one that you have the true answer for. I suggest a visit to your local AD, try on both watches and spend some time with them. You'll know which one 'sings' to you the loudest. The watch will answer your question for you.

And congratulations on what ever you choose, they are both fine watches !!

Agree with most of above

If you have young kids, like I do, tugging at your watch and doing what young kids do, then get the Sub. Swirls and scratches are more noticeable on the PCL's of the BLNR

Good luck

Diver vs GMT. Brushed vs PCLs. Glidelock vs Easylink clasp.
Can't go wrong. Pick one and don't look back.

Any other GMT, 116610 is your choice. But BLNR is among the SS-tops imo, so thats the watch you should get!

The GMTII is such a versatile watch and has the same great styling cues as the Sub.

I used to advise those who were interested in my opinion to go with a Sub first, since they'll probably wind up buying one anyway, but that was before I bought my BLNR.

GMTII's aren't quite as common as the Subs, so you do have that going for you, if that counts in your book.

From my own perspective, the LV is not a watch I desire, so in giving my opinion, I might advise going with the GMTII first and then by the time you're ready to buy a Sub, you'll be sure that an LV is what you want, rather than the LN, or any one of the other Rolex diver's watches.
