Icon20 Need advice first time Rolex buyer

Hello,

I'm a first time Rolex buyer, I am at a point in my life where having the latest and greatest electronic devices be it the latest iPhone or MacBook pro isn't giving me any satisfaction any more because those devices are just made to be disposed of or upgraded after a few years time and when the apple iWatch was unveiled I realized that what I really wanted was a Rolex submariner watch the two tone rolesor because of the exquisite craftsmanship and the fact that it will last me decades especially when taken care of unlike my electronic devices that being said...

I need some advice regarding the MSRP on Canadian Authorized Dealers regarding the 116613LB with the sunburst dial, I have been trying to scour the net on pricing but it varies greatly with prices from chrono 24 from 14k cdn to 15.7k cdn those prices are with the 19.5% vat included however I would like to get a more recent pricing on someone who has actually purchased here in Canada recently and what year you purchased your Rolex at so that I could get a general idea when I go and haggle for better pricing on my Rolex that I want to purchase.

I also need advice on how to get the best pricing with regards to my watch will the ADs offer me a discount by phone?

Can I tell the AD that another AD has offered me a better pricing than them and if they will go lower? Kind of like pitting them against each other to get the best price.

Will I piss off the AD if I start pitting them against each other?

What's the best discount I can get on the two tone 116613LB? Does anyone have any experience in Canada or better yet in Toronto that they can share ( I am not asking for the ADs name just the discount you got on a similar two tone submariner )

We have 5 authorized dealers here in Toronto that is within my location:

Royal Versailles
Damiani Jewelers
Humbertown Jewelers
Le difference time
Raffi Jewelers

First I would doubt if any AD would discuss any discount over the phone,so ring ADs to see if they have the watch you want in stock and then the rest is up to you.And if one AD will not give you the discount you want then move on till you find one that will.In general nearly all the TT models are not the fastest sellers so you should see more discount availability than say the SS models aim for anything over 10% .

Why not purchase from our trust sellers and save a ton of money?

Agree otherwise aim for 15-20% off from an AD, hunt around.

I buy exclusively from Raffi at Yorkdale. They are great to deal with, but having said that, I don't think calling the store for pricing is the way to go about it.

Go to each store, invest the time, and enjoy the hunt.

As for buying here on TRF, you might find slightly better pricing, just remember the dollar exchange and tax, duty when you import into Canada (plus 18%). I think you'll be hard pressed to find better pricing than from your local ADs in Toronto area even with a minimal discount .

Good luck and welcome

The current list price on a TT Sub is $15,350 CAD. You should be able to get out of the store with it on your wrist for about $15K flat including taxes.

Buying from TRF is not exactly an attractive option for Canadian buyers. In order to net out to the same $15k in Canadian dollars you'd need to be able to source a BNIB TT Sub for $9,985USD. Factoring in exchange brings that to $12,712CAD, then add taxes/duty on the CAD value of 18% to bring it to $15k CAD.

Thank you for the quick replies, there is a thread that popped up about the current pricing on Rolex watches here in Canada currently as of March the 116613LB MSRP at 14,900 Canadian I was wondering someone mentioned in this thread that two tone subs are slow movers do you guys think that if I have no relationship with my AD being a first time buyer I would be able to get a 20% discount without taxes included?
