Another winding thread!

I've only had my SubC for 4 months. When I first got it I noticed the rather smooth feeling of winding it. For some reason it now has a gritty sound to it and feels a little rougher or less smooth when winding. I really don't feel like bringing it to my AD to inspect but I'm OCD. It hasn't been exposed to the elements or anything.

Do you guys notice a general decline in the smooth feeling of the winding mechanism?

No, not really. Especially on a new watch that originally was acting fine. I had the same problem with a M serial 16610. It turned out that I was not winding, setting the date and time properly and I had my watchmaker change the crown and a gear. You better get it fixed. Usually they don't get better without a little help. Good luck.

Take it in, it shouldn't be getting gritty and rough on winding after a few months.

Are you sure it's not just fully wound and slipping? -

Hmmm. Good question. Actually I don't know. The problem is that once I noticed the difference yesterday I kept winding it to see if it was my imagination.

I would say its your OCD imagination which in most cases takes out the enjoyment of owning and wearing your Rolex.Your watch is fine its just the mainspring slipping in the mainspring barrel just like it supposed to do.
