Please see the picture of a watch I just bought

It says Oyster Perpetual Superlative Chronometer, but there is not date display. Ever seen one like it? I paid $2000 for it used off craigslist. Probably a dumb thing to do. It does have the box, seal and receipt. But now I find it runs slow, loses about 5 minutes a day. Did I get ripped off?

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but usually better to ask before buying.

Get some duct tape, tear off about one foot of it, then roll it into a ball with the sticky side out, then use that sticky ball to unscrew the case back and post a photo of the movement. ( a clear photo)

Normally this would not be good advice, but if its losing 5 minutes a day, its one of two things, its fake, or its trashed and needs a service anyway so any dust that gets inside won't hurt anything anyway.
Posting the photos of the movement will be the deciding factor, some watches have been serviced by poor watch makers and they 'could' have put on the wrong hands.......

see video below for an example, although it looks like he is unscrewing it the wrong way in the video, so use the left lossy -righty tighty method.

Even if it's real it's not exactly Rolex's finest hour! Sorry, just saying.

My first instinct is that it is fake. Some pictures of the box and papers will be interesting, you can check that the serial number on the watch that matches the papers. Does the watch feel like it is Rolex quality? It should be obvious.

i can't say anything that won't piss off the OP except that it appears genuine.
