Deep scratches on buckle
Hi guys,
Fell over and scratched the buckle of my Explorer 214270 badly.. I was wondering if this would be repairable by guys like Michael Young, or whether it would be replaced by Rolex if i sent it in to be serviced? Also wondering what the cost would be approximately.. Appreciate the help - i understand scratches add to the character but this is too much! Painful to look at... Thanks |

Polishing will take it out, I'll leave it till the next service.

I wouldn't worry, quick polish at service should do the trick

It will sting for a while, but you will get used to them until service time.

honestly, that's practically nothing. unless you keep it in a box, you'll get more "character" like that soon enough.

Not bad at all, I'd leave it as others have said.

Just leave it for now and when you have it serviced get someone to laser weld it for you. Look brand new. You'll get many more dents and scratches.

Not a Problem
Not a problem them Rolex can easily take that out but enjoy the watch until it is ready for service and it will be returned from RSC in as new condition.

That is absolutely easy to remove. As said, why even bother, wait until it is serviced.

Honestly, it looks great. Any worn metal is going to experience wear. Simple fact of physics here on our blue orb. In response to your question, yes. You can send it to a RSC or an independent such as Michael Young to "fix it." But, it's not broken and you're just going to scratch it again. Beautiful watch brother. Enjoy it.

Am I missing something
The only scratches I can see will probably wipe off with a spot of pledge and a duster. |

You could buy a scotch-brite 7447 maroon pad, and a few rubs along the grain will take most if not all of it out.

I feel your pain...and most of us here can attest to having similar experiences. But because of that, most of us will tell you just to live with it and wait till it's normal service time.
It can be easily fixed if you absolutely can't live with it, but you're just removing good metal from your watch, and in all probability, more scratches will re-appear. |

I have a small dent on the side of my Datejust...I wouldn't call it pronounced but it is noticeable. I'm hoping it can be remedied when the watch goes in for a service soon!
