I could be wrong, but I believe Fourtané has one of his Submariners on display (possibly for sale?).

No one more cool...some allegations out there that he had his flaws...some may be true, some may not, maybe all...maybe none...he is not around to confirm, deny or defend...so I give him all benefit of the doubt...I have every book on him and about him...have seen every movie he made several times over...that guy had it down...from his style...cars, bikes, clothes, watches, women...he was THE man.

That's right...I said it years ago on Jake's Rolex Forum, he didn't need a special haircut, crafted facial hair, a posse kissing his *ss or telling him how great he was...he was just cool, period. Nothing more, nothing less. He drove and raced cool cars and motorcycles, he dressed well, and he didn't pose, he didn't have to show off his belongings, or brag about any collections, or create a persona...and I'm pretty sure he wasn't worrying about whether he could wear his Rolex, or if it was safe to wear his Rolex, in a shower, or while making love to the hottest women on the planet, or while he was in (fill in the location)...or while racing Porsches, making movies, flying his planes, driving his 500hp plus jeep off road, or worrying about scratches on it as evidenced by pre-auction photos of his 5512, or whether the pearl fell out, or doing whatever...he just lived life on his terms, his way...and wore his one, if not two, Rolexes for about 10 years...perhaps a bit more or less of his way too short life...

Thanks for sharing, makes me feel a little cooler wearing my 114060

The first Steve McQueen movie I ever saw was "the sand pebbles." Powerful movie, amazing actor.

I'm generally not into the 'hero worship' thing as most people have their flaws if you look a little below the superficial. McQueen DOES always strike me as 'authentic' however. Maybe he was just a good actor on AND off screen but you always get the feeling that he wasn't foolin' himself too much about the "star" thing. A life well lived, I think.
