Royal Oak 5402ST vs 15300ST

Gents,

I'm in the market for an AP Royal Oak and have been able to source both the 5402ST (D series) and the 15300ST - both black dials.

I was wondering, in your opinion, which one of the two were better watches to own. the premium for the 5402ST is about $1000, and i would like to know if its worth it...

Please help me make this decision!

I prefer the 15300. No seconds hand is a deal killer for me.

Agreed. One of the reasons I wouldn't go jumbo.

I didn't think this was a big deal until I had a Reverso without a second hand. I missed seeing the watch "alive."

In terms of value, do you think the premium on the 5402 is warranted?

5402, the movement alone is worth the premium in my mind.

5402, esp if it's a birth year one.

I'm in between a blue 15300 and a black 5402 C - series.
Neither have box or papers, and both will most likely require service in a a year or two.

I tend to flip so i'm leaning towards the 5402 since its 2k less than the 15300.

WHAT DO I DO?!
