Rofina Landmaster 57 Jewels

Hi everyone,

I found this watch in my Dad's drawer. He told me I can do as I please with it. I shook it and it started running right away.

Anyone know anything about these watches?.. Worth the $100-$300 clean up and adjustment cost?.. Feels a bit small but it's old and has some corrosion happening on the dial. It'll keep me busy.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated

Rgds, Shawn

Only you can decide if the cost of a service is worth it. Being that it was your father's watch, does it hold any sentimental value to you? Do you like it enough to have it serviced?
I think it is a very nice looking watch, btw.

Thanks Salem.. $ is something I shouldn't have brought up.. My bad.

It's cool looking and old.. I'll have it cleaned up and serviced..

If in meantime anyone knows anything about the brand & can share, that would be awesome..

Nice watch, I'd definitely get it serviced

57 jewels is interesting though, most of them probably don't have a function.
Watch companies placed a lot of jewels inside the movement because people thought more jewels is better, most of them didn't know that jewels are the bearings and having so many jewels is a marketing trick and doesn't add any value to the watch or be of any use for that matter.
