Any Thoughts on Frederique Constant

Any thoughts on Frederique Constant watches. They are prevalent for sale in the Caribbean as reasonable pricepoints.

A nice watch... Some of their dressier refs are quite nice. I've thought about one for work trips to South America.

They have some really cool pieces and the prices are quite reasonable, this one for example is a steel for a tourbillon

Steal – not steel, which is the material.

You don't need to spend that much though, just to get a decent FC – their slim manufacture moonphase is such a bargain.
I'd love to see what their designers could knock out in the sports watch category, with that in-house movement displayed proudly – 200m would even be sufficient.

Alpina watches are Frederique Constant's sport line. They have some really nice pieces.

They have some nice watches but I'm not a huge fan, I'd get a nomos or reverso in this price range.

I'd forgotten about that, but most of the Alpina are 44-48mm, and are copies of what already exists.
Startimer – IWC BP
Yacht – IWC Aquatimer
And something else – Union Glashutte Noramis

I can't believe the same design team does both brands.
If they do, then they must go out clubbing hard over the weekend, so opt for the easy life come Monday mornings, when they have to do Alpina designs.

For the same money, the saner person would grab an Eterna Kontiki instead – no what I'm talking about is FC putting out something equivalent to an Aqua Terra, but more sensibly priced and with their manufacture movement inside.

Leave the sister brand to appeal to those who want IWC models, but can't afford them, even pre-owned.
