Richard Mille 005

Hi folks, been looking around for a RM and really liked this one. What do you guys think? How reliable is it to buy a reference with many years in its gears? No pun intended

I'm sure with a recent service you wouldn't have any issues. Or you could go for the modern alternative, RM-030.

As an RM owner, I do not like the RM005 at all. As others have stated RM011 is the way to go.

Wow guys. Had no idea there's little live for this reference. Thank you guys... I guess the hunt still on for the 11.

Don't do it Logan. I used to have a couple of 5s, wait for a nice 11, much better strategy.

Funny I prefer much more the 05 than the 011, the dial is less busy, and the blue is really cool IMO

Again like I just wrote Ken I really like it, way more than the 011, maybe it's because I am not a RM owner in fact I like the ones which have not too busy dials, if possible even without numerals, that's for me the nicest ones, my favorite in the "affordable" ones being the Bubba Watson, in the "non-affordable" ones of course the skull is the coolest

No Logan, some like it, for me it looks way nicer than the 011, the dial is too busy in my taste on the 011, on the 05 it's much cleaner and the type of blue os really cool in fact I prefer "simple" RM's, without chrono they look to me nicer, again it's just a question of taste, since I started not long ago to take interest in the brand maybe that's why and it's possible that when you're into the brand for a long time you like the more busy dial models, maybe also the die hard RM owners like the 011 better because the 05 is as I understand a little "small" if you can say so for RM standards...

About the 011, on chrono 24 I took a look and they have a deployant clasp, as well as on this 05 pic, well at least the 2 or 3 that mention the type of clasp, I thought that RM's always came in tang buckle… But I don't know a lot about the brand, maybe I'm confusing with another…

I Love it. One of my absolute favorite RM models, especially since I have smaller wrists. The RM10 is just too big for my small wrist. BUT in recent years, prices on RM05 have really risen from low 20s to now 30+.

Make sure it has a recent service and box/papers. sure aint cheap to service these watches!
