In 1963 Rolex began using the Daytona name on their Cosmograph Chronograph. At the Basel Watch Fair in 2013 Rolex introduced a new Daytona model to commemorate the occasion..

An Ice Blue dial with Chocolate (Chestnut Brown) Cerachrom bezel with matching chestnut sub-dial surrounds wrapped in a, new for the Daytona, Platinum case mark this version as unique to the line..

At around 75k I can get perpetual calendars used from pp, lange and a Datograph in platinum.

if the paul newman 6263 proto-type sold for over 850,000 us (this was a record sale)
and normal circulated 6263 sold in auction for 150k-180k
I BELIVE this watch will hold it own on price in the years to come plus it is the 50 year anniversary
only problem i see is that the platinum seems to stretch out alot easier than gold or steel

but then again who knows what the future brings

Platinum stretches easier than gold huh? Never heard of such a thing but..then again i've never owned and never will own a solid platinum piece soo....but I do however love the new Daytona. Typically I tend to overlook the Daytona because i'm not a fan of a chrono but...I do think this one is damn sexy.

Having owned many platinum watches and currently as well all I can say is that just is not true and certainly not my experience. As for the watch all I can say is it is one awesome watch with amazing wrist presence, heft, and sex appeal! The glacier blue and chestnut brown combo is simply brilliant! I love mine and thank Rolex for such a terrific design and color combo!
