Received a fake rolex in a trade!

I was making a trade for an Armida A6 for a Steinhart OVM....an even trade of some nice Rolex inspired watches. Then the box arrives and.....well instead of that nice Steinhart I receive a Rolex! The Rolex is of course fake. I was both impressed with the quality but shocked someone would do this. I had to pull out my own real Rolex to compare some of the issues with the watch.

OK now onto the problem. What should I do with the fake Rolex? I would love to report the guy but where to do that? Is shipping a fake Rolex over state lines a punishable crime?

Throw it out? Wear it? Give it to my brother-in-law?

Oh and be careful trading with a guy from Opp Alabama.

I would trash it.

Wearing it is out of the question and giving a fake to someone would make me think you don't think very highly of that person.

Op. Start over and state your situation clearly please. Or at least, did you try and figure out what was up with the guy you traded with?

Of course it is a crime. You should try to get your watch back.

Unless you don't like your brother in law don't give the watch to him.

Seriously though, you may want to hold it in case the police needs it as evidence.

Thanks for the heads up, but I doubt any member here would engage in a similar trade. Be it value, method, or otherwise.

Had you traded your real Rolex and been sent a counterfeit the community would be very interested, but I hope you'd be a little more careful with an item of such value.

Put the missing Steinhart down to experience and order directly from the website next time. They are very reasonably priced making the hassle of a trade unnecessary.

As for the fake Rolex? Hit it with a hammer and post a picture of it here. There's nothing like seeing another one of those horrid things meet an untimely death
