Personally, I'm not a fan of the brand matching stuff. The Breitling/Bentley stuff, Panerai/Ferrari, etc.
Truth be told, I also find the AP named theme a bit wet as well.

I looked at the Bremont watch that "matches" the e-type and the first thing I pictured was a Rolex with a display back and a Toyota logo inside

I don't own a Toymota and don't want to "dis" them, but the combination does not bear thinking about.
Is "Toymota" a typo or some kind of implication that non-European cars are garbage? (No, I'm not a Toyota owner either, but they're good cars with pedigree and countless innovations.)

And Hublot is too obscene to even mention.

I have to admit, some of the JLC Aston Martin tie-ins are absolutely stunning watches, but I don't know if I could wear such a thing with the AM logo on it. Nothing against Aston Martin, of course, but simply because such a logo kind of attracts the wrong sort.

With you on that one. Another curiousity is the Top Gun IWC.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yachtmaster

A Yachtmaster qualification is a certificate of competence of the ability to handle either a sailing boat or motor boat (as endorsed) in certain prescribed conditions. Three different titles are specified; Yachtmaster Coastal (previously - and in some countries still - called Coastal Skipper), Yachtmaster Offshore, and Yachtmaster Ocean which specify the level of competence required and the area of operation certified.[1]

Certification may be sought for commercial recognition or as a confirmation of attainment of skills.

The original training scheme and certification was established and is maintained by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) in the UK[2] and training to this scheme is carried out in many countries. Other countries such as Australia, have modified the scheme in partnership with the RYA so that it can be locally administered and operated by Yachting Australia.[3]

Reminds me of working with Manhattan ad agencies ... content so clever not even the consumer is skilled enough to understand the message.
What Yachtmaster is going the unscrew a watch crown and rotate a bezel during preparation at the run up to a race, when a simple touch or two on a screen will do the same? I know about the Yachtmaster certificate - I've got one!

AP ? I guess this means the thread title? If so, surely it reflects the thread 'Let's see those steering wheels'?

Audemars Piguet, not original post. They're recently taken a particularly gaudy turn in their marketing, releasing "limited edition" watch models that are named after celebrities.

Have you googled the Bremont watch that is presented to the owners of the 'new' lightweight Jaguar e type? The dial made to represent the RPM gauge seems to me to be quite a good idea!
"huh"

Bremont?

I think they/we do 'get it' but simply don't like it. You asked if it was 'time' for such an option to be offered. And you have some honest answers. It will never happen, and bears no relation to the Jaguar programme with the watch gift/gimmick, which I also saw. They also made other gimmick stuff to go with the cars. Lots of people who drive cars also happen to wear watches, and some like taking photos of their watches for this forum, and cars are a good context for that! Doesn't mean they want a steering wheel in their watch.
