To Flip or Not: That is the Question

Hi All - I have always found everyone's opinions on here to be very informative. So, I am looking for some advice. Currently, I have a 114060 and a 116334 and am quite happy with the combination of the two pieces. I am, however, thinking about what I could get if I flipped both and upgraded for one. I purchased both pieces within the past three years and obviously have the undeniable itch. I have promised my wife that I won't spend any more money on this obsession for at least a few years. Thus, the issue is whether I should stick with the current set up or flip for a Daytona or something else in the interim? Any insight would be much appreciated! I am leaning towards the status quo because of the flexibility but want to hear how others would approach the situation or what the realistic upgrade options would be. Thanks in advance.

Hard to beat the combo you've got there with just one watch, IMO. If you're happy, stick with them.

You should bide your time, enjoy your two fine watches. I wouldn't dream of flipping mine, they are the basis of a file collection, or can forever be the only two you'll ever need.

You've got a nice balanced 2 watch collection. Unless you have an unlimmited budget, the best way to stop persistant "must obtain a new watch" fever is to stay off of TRF.

Personal I'd rather have a couple awesome pieces then one must have piece that MIGHT cure the itch. The thing is, the itch is NEVER cured. I'd keep both, and save for a third.

Bought a Daytona today, I was going to flip one of the others, too much history on the Sub, my wife bought the DJ and I love my Blue Black. I could not part with any of them.

Not a flipper, so I'd say stay put.

I would not. The SubC and DJII are a strong pair and you'll only end up trying to add them back into your collection after you flip them, particularly the Sub. Not a very cost effective approach. I'd save up for the Daytona. It's an awesome watch.

You have a great pair, no need for trade. What I would recommend is getting a third watch, possibly used one, or play with switching the bracelets. You will get a new look without breaking the bank.

Daytona is an awesome watch, but I would not flip your pair for one Daytona. Bide your time, and eventually you will be able to add the Daytona.

I started with a 14060, but I always dreamed of a white Daytona...and 15 years later I got one. I still have the 14060 and I'm glad I never flipped it.

Your watches are timeless classics, I'd never get rid of them unless strapped for cash. Stick to them, set up at financing or saving plan for the Daytona and don't buy any other watch in he meantime, you'd be unsatisfied if it's not your Daytona, I think.

Collecting/acquiring more will never satisfy you, and it won't lead to happiness. If you think you can live with one watch, I say, rather than selling both of yours for a new one, sell one of your current watches and simply keep one. Then spend the $5K on a luxurious weekend trip for your wife. That's the true road to happiness.
