DD I and Daytona for a lady: colour and weight questions
Hello There! my first post in the forum, how exciting this is!
I also want to belong to the big Rolex family. However, I canīt decide between two models : either a Daydate I (gold with blue dial ) or a Daytona (bi-color with gold or silver dial ) I have tried both . - The Daydate feels good. Are there any experiences regarding the blue/ gold combination? - The Daytona however looks great, but I wonder if itīs not too heavy for an every day watch. Feel free to post your daydate or daytona wristshots , it would be a blast for me to see them. :-) |

I would think they are a similar weight, gold is heavier than TT, but the Daytona is a bigger watch. My wife wears my Daytona with a black dial and loves it.
Day Date on a lady with a blue face sounds like the better choice but what would I know. Picture of the Daytona on my wife, she has tiny wrists as well.

I think ladies prefer the Daytona, have seen more female celebs wearing a gold Daytona than anything else and it looks great on them.

Daytona seems to be the more popular choice of the two, but having said that ....

I would think the DD would be a little heavier than the Daytona, being solid gold. That said, are you more a sports watch type or more into dressing up?

I think that weight-wise the two watches you are considering are probably pretty comparable. I do think that once they are properly sized to your wrist, the difference in weight (if there is one) will be nominal and not at all noticeable. That being said, the Daytona is a slightly bigger watch so that may create the illusion that it is heavier or bulkier, depending on the size of your wrist.
I don't think you can go wrong with your choices. Choose the one you love more. They are very different. Maybe someday you will get the other and you'll have both! |

I think that the problem is that you cannot try them by the correct bracelet size at the store. You are just able to lay them on your wrist, so that you cannot know how the clock feels if you wear it with the right length of the bracelet... |

I would choose the 36mm over a Daytona no matter if it was for a man or a woman. Personally I think it's a far nicer watch. Plus the lack of a date on the Daytona would bug me.

My wife wears a RG DD and it is the maximum size she will wear despite my efforts to get her into a Daytona. Must be a personal preference thing.
