that is an interesting question. For me, I always wear one watch. I don't really trust the little safe in hotel rooms. One time I couldn't open the safe in the hotel ( in Asia) it was malfunctioned or I made a mistake setting up the 4 digit code. I called the front desk and someone came up and opened the safe with a master key. From that point on, I never trust the hotel safe knowing it is so easily opened by hotel staff.
If I travel to a place where I may buy a high end watch, I will wear something cheap. Wear the new watch on my wrist back and mail the box&papers home via FedEx. If I am not planning to buy a watch, I will wear one of my Rolexes. |

Thanks guys. I've always stuck to one when flying, but brought two or more on road trips. My datejust and sub make it through airport security on my wrist, but my PAM 50 always sets of metal detectors and it kills me to watch it ride the conveyor belt out of my sight. My other fear is that I would forget the extra watches in the hotel safe when I check out. It's sad to say, but I guess I fear my own forgetfullness more than hotel theives!

I have never taken more than 1--- the one on my arm. At times I do agonize over which one to take with me. I guess like the wife--- trying to decide on which shoes or clothes-- I only worry about with watch and camera to take with me :). The specific watch depends on the length of travel and where I am going. If i go to South America-- would take a very inexpensive piece. When i went to China for a little over a week --- I wore my Muhle Glashutte Seebattallon. It was a good choice because GMT and handled the humid weather and rain when we were hiking in some of the mountainous regions. I have flown to Europe with Patek 5164. I have also traveled to east coast with my patek 5960. But when i go overseas -- like to have a GMT so i can easily keep track of timezone differences.

Depends on where I am going and for how long.
Normally I take one nice watch, and one watch I would be okay with losing. Sometimes, I only take a watch I'm okay with losing.
