Speedmaster vs Glashutte Original

Hey all!

Considering a new watch. Currently own a polar Rolex Exp II but want to add another piece.

Considering the following:
Omega Speedmaster
Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Panorama Date

The Omega is much easier to find and will be cheaper but something draws me to how unique the GO is. The GO will not be the easiest to find as it was discontinued a few years ago.

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

I would go with a Speedmaster, a classic look. The GO design doesn't really speak to me.

No contest – one's an old nag being flogged to death, the other is a thoroughbred!

Plenty here

Thanks for the links!
The Chronograph isn't the one I was looking for but I like that one too. The last link for the Panorama is sold (I sent him an email last week asking availability)

Overseas does seem a little easier to find the GO. Hoping to find a full set with both the Trieste and Steel bracelet.

I love GO quality and craftsmanship. But for this situation I'll go with speedmaster. The sport evolution in GO line not really interesting overall.

I'm not a big GO fan and I like the speedy, so I'd pick the speedy.

I have owned both, kept the Speedmaster.

Unless you have the wrist for the Sport Evolution, it might be tough. Beautiful watch, fantastic bracelet with the micro adjustment but very heavy and solid.

I had no choice but to sell it after losing a lot of weight.

I really like the GO watches, but I had a Sport Evolution Pano Date and didn't keep it for very long. I've got Subs and a Sea Dweller, and the Evo just didn't have anything about it that made it stand out from my Rolex's, granted all divers have more or less the same derivative look that really started with the Sub.

Have you considered the Calibre de Cartier diver? I had the standard Calibre in stainless on bracelet, and I really like what Cartier has done with this Calibre line and the new in-house movements. Their diver has a distinct Cartier appeal that sets it apart from the others in that segment.

I'd go Speedy in this case.

Now if it was up against the GO Seventies Chrono, that one would win by a landslide!

Thanks all for the comments. I was originally really sold on the Speedmaster but when I saw the GO (not in person) and read up on their history I was intrigued. I'm a 30 something active guy with a professional job but work from home in a relaxed environment so a "dressy" watch isn't what I am looking for now.

Sounds like most lean towards the Omega but I'm still torn. A dealer I have contacted has the GO coming in on a trade with both steel and the trieste band so I'll have to see how motivated they are to sell the package. If price is crazy, it might just have to go with the Speedmaster (looking at the model with the transparent case back)

cheers again to all!

Speedmaster pro! GO if you are looking at the other Speedy variants (reduced auto, broad arrow, 9300 series etc)

Speedy is a great watch.

GOs are great too, but the model you selected is my least favorite of all.

Ended up going with the classic hesalite crystal speedmaster, received it yesterday!
Definitely interested in adding a GO at some point but for now it'll have to wait.
Cheers all!
