My Sub's too tight, help!
Not a small guy, being 6'6" I imagine I have a large wrist although I've never had it measured. Anyway, I believe I have the bracelet in the last hole in the clasp, and it is still too tight! It looks kind of strange to me though, because it only has 4 1/2 links on the inside, but 9 links on the outside! This is the way it came from the AD, is it right?
If I need an extra link, and somebody has one, I sure would appreciate it. BTW, I still can not figure out the expanding clasp either, it seems like I am going to damage the bracelet tugging on it. Any suggestions? |

I am about your size. Over the past 20 years, I have bought two Rolex Submariners. Both times I had to buy an extra link to make it fit. One was SS and the other was a TT. So many people complain about cost of their watch and they get no discounts, etc...imagine having to shell out top dollar for a new Rolex and then having to pony up more money just to make it fit! My gold link was about $475. One of the few downsides of being a big guy.

Call me crazy, I would even out the links on each side. 9 on one side and 4 on the other will not center the clasp, maybe by doing that it might loosen a little.
But the question about the diver extension clasp, here is a link to a post about how to do it: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=41298 Don't worry about tugging it just takes a extra pressure to release it. Hope it helps. |

Maybe this tutorial that Sheldon made about bracelet length might be helpful.
As Sheldon states: "- The wearer can add links to slightly lenghthen the overall bracelet length in increments smaller or larger than using the clasp holes exclusively. For example, if a GMT wearer has two links, using hole 3, the bracelet lenght is 13.2. To make the bracelet slightly longer, they can add a link and move the hinge to hole 2 to 13.8."

FWIW, my LV has 1 link removed on the on 9 side and the clasp is perfectly centered on my wrist. My wrist is 6.5" Once you do the hidden clasp extension thingy, you will realize why there are more links on one side. And for anyone looking at your pictures, your bracelet does appear to be at it's fullest length with the supplied links. |

Well the Jr. Watchmakers Toolkit came through again...
Taking one out of the 9 side and adding to the 4 side centered the bracelet perfectly, and there does seem to be a bit extra room. I will have to call my AD for another link I guess, because I would like more. I love the bracelet screws, how thoughtful and easy to use! Thanks for the help everybody, shoot me a pm if you guys have an extra link available.... Ed |

So I now have 4.5 at the six and 9 on the twelve if you count all links including the two divers extensions which are normally folded away. I have the push pin on the hole giving the loosest fit. This seems to be a great fit for me - but we'll see what a sweaty day in the office tomorrow brings. I asked my Doctor friend why wrists sizes change so much during the day, back came the one word reply, "gravity." Warm blood pools at the end of our arms.
