What a polish should look like after service

when you say light polish. Thank you Mr Rolex Certified watch maker

Watch is a F serial Seadweller 16600. Daily worn for roughly 8 out of the 10 years. It got its first service ever in July after almost 10 years of ownership. I ask for light polish. Some marks are still visible. But as you can see the watch has not lost its original shape at all.

For a 10 year old watch, it sure looks awfully new. ;)

Translation = the polish looks great!

I bought this watch a few months before I joined this board The watch was not babied but not abused either. Back in the day it often bathed in glasses of ice water at watch meets lol

Rolex Toronto and also Damianis. Both will listen and know what light polish means.

I favour Damianis for a quick cleaning and polishing. Many use them in between servicings for a quick light polish

So if they do normal polish, watch looses its original shape? Kind of doubt it.

In the second pic you can see on the under side of watch the edges still have pits in them. Underside flea bites if you will. Had that been polished out a lot of metal would have been taken out. Also it's not visible from the pics the sides have some deeper scratches still there. Again if they had been polished out the watch probably would have lost some shape due to the removing of metal.

So to answer your question yes with my specific watch with the scratches it had/has on it it could have lost some of its original shape with a normal polish

Lol. I agree. But some of the scratches on my watch you can probably see sitting across from me but this watch has been on my wrist most of the time the past 10 years and the marks are character marks.
