No way I'm taking my watch off near the ocean. Not a fan of the accelerated distressing by bouncing around on rocks either.

I lost my retainer in the ocean when I was a kid...that was $80, I can't imagine losing a Rolex!

Because you only live once...we don't really own these watches, they will last longer than the average person will possess it. Sometimes risk adds to the adventure and flavor of life.

To be fair, I think the SD returning to the sea is a bit more poetic than having it stashed in a safe. But for real great shot and glad a tragedy was averted.
