Nice how does that m exhaust sound? My m3 sounds like a teenagers Honda civic on cold starts. Not sure I want to fiddle with the exhaust though because I won't keep it too long.

Last night I was searing a roast before broiling. Ended up burning it not paying attention an hour later in the oven.....

On cold starts, all exhaust will be similar. Except that with the MPE, Akro, AWE, etc. it will be slightly deeper in tone in sport/sport plus or with the valves opened manually. Cold start is a feature coded into the car so all the Ms will rumble loudly on cold start and settle down 40-60 seconds later depending on oil temp.

Exhausts like the AWE non-resonated will surely piss off the neighbours on cold start especially with down pipes. I love cold starting the car but I don't think my neighbour does, they're surely not going to like it when I put on an Akro this fall.

It sounds good love it, ESP because there is no drone while cruising. It's also not too loud under "normal" driving but loud enough when you are on it.

I have no idea what this all means. I know my v8 sounds sweet with decent rpm.

All boxes ticked.

I had my BMW out today, it was clean, Gmt on the wrist, iced coffee in the cup holder. Nice!

V8 M3 can't be bought for a steal these days. V8 models is the e90 sedan, e92 coupe or e93 hardtop convertible. The new turbo I6 M3 f80 and M4 f82

Saw an identical M4 to yours over here today, very nice, although I'd need a 4 door M3 myself.
I love the V8, but prices are still strong for a nice one in the UK.
I had a look at a nice 5 year old 335i 4 door this week. Ł12,500
Which is pretty good value and they're pretty rare.

Anyway, E39 for me for a few more years yet!

Cool story. I'm happy enough with the noises the car makes, everyone has their reasons for choosing a car, a V8 isn't one of my criteria as much as the whole package. If Audi would bring the RS3 hatch to the states, I'd probably own that.

I was responding to GB-Man's questions about cold start which is something a lot of modern sports cars seem to do(loud on start up if the engine is cold), no need to turn this nice thread into a "vs" of the old and new.

Dang I would love an akra but $€ŁĄ!!!

I really am not fond of the noises it makes until the engine reaches temp.

I think I was spoiled by my prior car which was naturally aspirated. That said the car is an animal and everything else is money, cept maybe the seats which could use some adjustable thigh support for my tall self, as offered in the f82 and reg 3/4er.

One things for sure it doesn't lack power. Throttle control is an everyday thing. You can't just hammer it or the rear end will remind you what the hell you just ordered

Beautiful M4. I'm in a lowly 428i but I will be upgrading once residency is over.

I love your M4 but given the choice right now between the car and that Porterhouse for two I think I'd pick the porterhouse. I'm starving waiting for my lunch to arrive
