16600 Seadweller - Real? Help!
Hi Guys,
Looking to take this watch in on a trade from a reputable seller on a forum that doesn't deal in watches (not necessarily proof they are reputable, rather just a comment on his possible integrity). The pics were sent via phone and hopefully higher res photos will follow (I've asked for dial/bezel/lug/back/LEC photos if possible). Based on my observations: 1) Y series - which coincides with his description that the there are open lugs on the watch. 2) The original vendor listed on the Certificate looks to be an AD for Rolex in the Philippines. 3) Photo with the box/paperwork looks to be complete Concerns: 1) The watch is circa 2012 but it has an older box - did watches in that era come with this style? 2) The Certificate lists ROLEX SA instead of MONTRES ROLEX SA which is what I commonly see on older watches. I know they officially changed their name, but what year did they change the paperwork? Is there anything that you guys see off the top that would lead you to believe its a fake? The owner seems legit but I don't want to waste time if this is an obvious copy. I blacked out the copy of the certificate to conceal the serial, if its worth anything he sent me an image of the complete one. Feedback appreciated! |

Those are lousy photos.
Lousy photos are usually by design given just about any phone has quality cameras nowadays. |

The endgame here in this section is to help people make decisions based on input. The input is based on the quality of the photos we get to see obviously. Like a previous poster stated, all phones these days have hi res cameras......so to receive photos like that would raise my pucker factor to red alert. You could be onto something here with a trade but id be really careful and don't hold your breath waiting on better pics.......they usually never come for one or more reasons. Just sayin.......good luck
