Exactly what I was going to say. G-shock or Timex Ironman watch. I've had two Ironman watches my entire life. The first is at the bottom of a lake because of being kicked very hard in a triathlon. The other is on my kitchen table and used for "rough" activities. Hard to kill them.

As has been noted, the EXPII will handle the shocks better.
No moving parts to break or jam on the bezel, a second time zone, and better shock resistance. I'd rather have a scratched bezel in the field, over a broken/cracked/jammed bezel, any day of the week. Best of luck trying to find an AD or source a broken or cracked bezel in the field...

UPDATE:
So after much research and reading into each of the piece we finally went into the AD and checked some out. The wife and I instantly fell in love once I put it on... |

I would go for polar explorer 2. It has a fixed and metal bezel = rugged. It has a splash of color = ticks your box. White dial makes it the more interesting sports rolex choice. Anyway, your choice but to me this is the one to take, especially as it is not your first rolex. I think Polar Exp 2 makes a perfect 2nd Rolex.

I am in the armed forces and my Wg Daytona, day date II and every other watch I own comes out and plays with me on the field and operations. Every scratch is a memory and makes the watch personal to me my new birthday TT date just II already has a few superficial marks. I had babied her but got bored and enjoy wearing the watch.
As for which I, I love wearing my LVc and the explorers is a great watch though I have managed to not scratch the bezel yet.

A GMT will do you just fine.... I've worn the GMT, Exp II, and the SDk4000 and the GMT II is the most versatile.

Why is an easily scratched bezel a common concern of the ExpII but the Daytona seems to escape this same criticism?
