Safe to Travel with my Watch
Last March we travelled to Barcelona for a soccer camp and to see El Clasico. Barcelona has the highest number of pickpockets in Europe. Just keep you wits about you and be very aware on the Subway and in crowded areas.
I was paranoid about having my 14060M lifted off my wrist (saw a fellow on a TV show doing this) so I put some clear cellophane tape over the clasp. We had no problems at all and I was glad I wore my Rolex. Enjoy your trip ! |

Insure it,
Wear it, Enjoy it. On cruises, my watches fight before we leave to hopefully not be the one left behind at home so to please them, depending on number of nights, I bring a few. |

I took almost the same cruise in May of this year. I wore my Pepsi GMT II everywhere. It’s the only watch I took as it allowed me to keep track of the time at home. Not only did I not insure the watch, I stopped with the money belt, neck wallet etc. the second day.
Very simply, if keep your head out of your ass, pay attention to your surroundings and don’t look like a victim, you probably won’t become one. |

Safe to travel with my watch?
Quote:
And even in dangerous third world countries it is not a problem... This is were i live. Most of Rolexes around here are fakes, they are sold in the street. If you get robbed they'll go for your cash and mobile. I pay more attention to my IPhone than to my watch. Actually don't be alert, that is what draws attention. Wear it and enjoy it, it is made to travel. You'll be able to shoot great wrist shots !

If it is insured then wear it, if not I would be careful - those places aren't rough, but there are always people looking to take advantage of tourists. I was warned by an Italian friend and fellow Rolex collector to be very careful.

i would wear it.
but if you are stressing over it, leave it at home. the trip is more important than what you'll be wearing. |

I would wear it also. No one is going to notice the watch on the cruise. Leave it on the ship for your excursions if you are worried. Have fun!!

Rolexes are designed in Europe, manufactured in Europe, marketed in Europe, sold in Europe, serviced in Europe. Rolex IS Europe!
So why on earth would you not wear a Rolex Submariner in Europe? |

Really? It's a little like asking if it's dangerous to cross the road. The answer to which is "of course it's frigging dangerous if you're looking the wrong way or not paying attention to what is around you"
You're on a cruise which means you're not going to get a load of time in most cities, just wear your watch, enjoy the sights, have fun and keep your wits about you.....just as you would in any city in any part of the US. |

No worries. Worn my sub on a Mediterranean cruise and other cruises and tours. Been to Spain so many times with that watch with my wife on our own.

Wear it on the cruise ship and enjoy. I would think you are only at risk around the Ports when visiting for the day. Leave it in the ships safe when wondering around the Port.

Insure it and don't worry about it. If someone mugs you, give it to them happily without reservation, because you're covered.

Wear your Rolex. Most people are unlikely to notice. Enjoy your trip!

My wife and I just returned from 10 days in Croatia, Slovenia and Venice. Wore my Submariner the entire trip and never encountered a problem. Joie de vivre.
