I agree that it is crazy how a WG Daytona is worth less than the BLRO, however to me it was worth the price of admission. Each watch has its own characteristics. For example, the Daytona I had is a beautiful watch especially with the white face dial and red hands...it was so under the radar no one really looked twice...only the watch enthusiasts knew anything about it. Juxtapose that with the BLRO...just the opposite...it has a more "hey look at me" feel to it where not only the watch enthusiasts look, but complete strangers stare at it albeit for a second or two. Probably has to do with the colors on the ceramic dial I would venture. Regardless, it's a great take on a classic timepiece that if you're still on the fence about just do it as you won't regret it. Also the pictures from Dr. Tom and the others certainly don't help. |

I was in WoS the other day and the sales manager, who knew her stuff, was saying Rolex were telling them the bezel cost over £3K to make as it was difficult to blend and there was a lot of throwaway, and that they even accept the colour is still not quite a perfect blue and red and that there is some bleeding. She also thought in SS the waiting lists would be huge as Rolex could not increase production like on other simpler bezel models and thus WG was the only option. Also that most buyers would be buying SS only to resell. She also thought a ceramic Daytona in SS was not going to happen.
