My first
Hi all,
Rolex's marketing worked a treat getting me to go and try on the new Cellini date. I wasn't wowed enough to sign up there and then for £12k and had a little bug with the dial. And for that price feel I need to love everything about the watch. But it got me looking and I am down to 6 choices. I originally wanted a leather strap for more of a dress watch but quickly got over that as I felt it would be less durable. I also want frequent use but to try and hold as much of the value as possible. Having said that there is 1 leather in the choice below because I love the look of it. Rolex GMT Master II Ref 116710BLNR £5950 Bracelet: Steel https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...2Rvd3daT1VxcXc Rolex Datejust 2 Azzurro Ref 116300 £4800 Bracelet: Steel https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...VJuTFlBX0NRVDQ Rolex Datejust II Azzurro Ref 116334 £6100 Bracelet: Steel and white gold Fluted bezel https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...nFkdWNNNlNuN3M Rolex Submariner Date Ref 116610ln £5700 Bracelet: Steel https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...Wl1RHhQYmRERFk Omega De Ville Hour Vision MODEL NUMBER: 431.33.41.21.03.001 £4550 Bracelet: Leather https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...Xg3OHpjRXZLTUU Seamaster Planet Ocean MODEL NUMBER: O23290422103001 £5460 Bracelet: Titanium https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4...DNoMGZ4eFZBRzA When researching I first fell in love with the Datejust Azzurro with fluted bezel. It just felt a little too bling when I tried it on today. I was sure I was going to get a Rolex but the two omegas look really stunning, are generally cheaper and discounts up to 20% seem available. Having said that price is the secondary consideration amongst these, I'm more concerned with depreciation than initial outlay. Last edited by Cjc; 21 October 2015 at 05:43 AM.. Reason: Pictures |

hard to go wrong with any of those rolexes, and the omega is a nice watch too. the rolexes will hold value better than the omega, though. the blnr holding the most as it's still new and very in demand

I would go with the GMT or DJ2 Fluted bezel with the sub coming in close.

I really am starting to like the blnr. I was on a choice of two all week (the Datejust - but coin tossing over the bezel)
Having now been inspired by another post I have checked out the yachts aster with blue dial and it is gorgeous. Yachtmaster At least for consistency I am almost sure I want a blue dial. That rules out the sub. The blnr gets a pass for the blue accent on the bezel. The omega seamester while nice is just missing something special I can't put my finger on. That leaves me with 5... |
