hmm

always thought the custom in the watch world (and luxury industry in general) was that it was not genteel to talk about money

i guess this era is coming to an end with the next generation... youths being able to afford luxury, who often are more keen for others to know how much they spent on it

I would hate working at an AD only to have people who cant afford the product calling all day to find out the price of this and that and never come into the store. This would cut down on that drastically.

I see your point, but the flip side may also be true--revealing prices would discourage more folks from visiting AD's due to sticker price shock which may have been partially tempered or even subdued by a trained sales professional. Also, a simple internet search would reveal the general retail price for most luxury watches--unless you live on a remote island with no internet access

doesn't show up using Chrome in the USA. Maybe it's per watch or browser issue? not sure.

OMEGA does as well now

It's a new thing, it's geo coded too so you can only see the prices in your country, not others.
Something partly to do with price enquiries against the grey market etc so people don't pay over retail for a watch, or from what I gathered.

Can you not see it using a UK proxy server? I think it's good that they are now displaying prices, it's very helpful imo. Considering how widely available Submariners are here in the UK and the premium grey market dealers are trying to achieve on them.. Going to be a bit of a shot in the foot for them. I saw a few Subs on eBay being advertised as 'highly sought after' and adding an extra 300-400 GBP over retail on them.

I'm not getting the price button here in New Mexico, for all the difference that should make.

Omega recently did too. It'll sure make things easier for me to prove current MSRPs to my insurance company!

That's a 'price on request' piece anyway.

should it really matter? a simple google search will give you the price. it is jewelry. everything is negotiable from MSRP.

It's just a departure for Rolex - at least where it seems to be working.

Folks here don't seem to google - if the incessant price / discount questions are any indication
