My GMT-II went to service
I sent my GMT-II (K series) to Dallas service center for the first service 10 days ago. They tested it and sent me an estimate. They said that the oil was dry and the gaskets, case tube were worn. They will change the bezel insert, the case tube and polish it. The cost will be 534$ including S&H.
I cannot wait to see it back. Below are pictures before service. I will post pictures when it is back. |

they just gonna replace the bezel insert with another black one. I will post after service pictures. The case and the bracelet should look like new. I am excited to see how it will look.

Those were my exact thoughts, as well!
The movement probably needs a good clean and lume, though! Must say that the outer condition is amazing!

I sent it mostly for service for the movement. The accuracy was +3 sec/24h (not bad). I thought after 7 years it needs service. According to Dallas center the oil was dry and the gaskets were worn. If it is true I am glad I did send it.

You made the right choice!
Still, it's amazing that the accuracy is so good after 7 years. But then again, Paul's ("Mailman") Sub Date is consistantly ½ second slow after 7 years, too.
