You say "standard discount" as if AD's gave them. On the West Coast you are unlikely to ever see a 15% discount on a Rolex of any type. You might see 10 to 12 % on the TT and Gold models, but SS, or a popular sport model.........no way.

If you can get your watch from an AD at those prices; I would get several while I still had that job......

That is weird because I have been to 3 ADs and I have always been able to get them down from the sticker price. For example, when I bought my 16234 Datejust, the sticker was $4,450 and I paid $3,700. All ADs will tell you they are not allowed to discount Rolex, but the reality is they have some room to work with. Of the two Rolex's I own, I have never paid the going retail price nor have I paid the amount printed on the sticker. Both purchased from different authorized dealers in Wisconsin.
