I love the GMTs even though I would never use the function. (maybe once while overseas I did). But I like the styling, the pop of color. And I like the bold numerals on the bezel too. I miss my gmt2c

I think the GMT is a useful watch if you regularly travel across time zones or do business with others in a different time zone. But it is certainly not a watch for everyone. If you haven't worn it for a while, it take a while to change the date as you have to advance the hour hand 24 times to advance the date on the newer GMT watches.

For the OP, go with a watch that you love, rather than what is popular on the forum or what others say is a better watch.

I can't say the gmt function is an amazing complication. I hardly travel so it's got minimal use for me.

BUT... can't really complain when my gmt looks like this...

I love my GMTII and always use the 24 hour hand when I travel. Otherwise quite honestly I don't even notice it when checking the time.

a big part of me wants to do the BLNR and just remove the GMT hand if possible. Granted i have one of the most unreadable Rolex models out there (1655) and have gotten used to that so I wouldnt actually mutilate a nice piece like that.
Sometimes the right GMT hand really makes the watch pop

I love the 24 hr hand and its function. Rolex have made the extra hand very unobtrusive in the GMT II as well being either blue or green and super thin. I don't have a GMT yet but have Explorer II with the large orange extra hand. Love it as well!

I definitely would put myself into the GMT camp over the Sub. I enjoy the decrease in weight, slightly flatter caseback and extra functionality the GMT offers over the Submariner. Another minor thing, for me a dive watch shouldn't really have a date, so that makes the GMT the easy choice for daily wear.

I have a GMT II and because I travel a lot it is useful and fun to wear. When home I wear my Sub C ND. Clean, simple, and the glidelock is a little more comfortable.

GMT is a style icon also so many great variants over the years certainly a GMT there for everyone to like that I'm sure of.
