Mine is a 14060m Y serial. 2-liner. pre-COSC. Papers dated 2004.

Does anyone out there know the history of the red hang tag? When they switched to hologram? When they switched from one hologram to another? Seems like Rolex maybe just threw on a red tag for some of these watches without concern for what it says. Id love to learn more.

My Y-series 16610 came with a red tag... my F-series Daytona did not. My guess for the changeover would be around 2004-2005?

A red tag with a new watch means that the movement is COSC certified (aka Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified on the dial). As the two-liner was not certified, it did not come with a red tag. Sellers who like to put together "full sets" for their watches sometimes include a red tag by mistake.

Red tags were used from, I believe, as early as the late 1940s to July this year, when they changed to green They went from plain to hologram around 1990, I think.

Congrats on the 5513 of tomorrow. The 14060 sure sits like a tatoo on the wrist, sky high wearability :)
