Watch getting slower after 20 days

Hi all,

I started measuring my Pelagos Blue and the first five days it was running ~ -0.1s/day, the next 5 days -0.3s/day, next 5 -0,6s/day and the last 5 days -0,8s/day...

I guess -0,8s/day is really good, however was kind of getting used with the -0,1-0,3 measurements :)

Is it normal the watch gets slower and slower when wearing longer or (sort of running in time?) should I expect it to get even worse or will it stabilize?

Average since I owned the watch is -0,5s/day

Is that -0.8 seconds per day, not -8 seconds per day. If its -0.8 seconds per day be happy. That is pretty awesome.

So how are you measuring the fractional seconds?

I take it you have a Timegrapher if you're measuring that precisely? Is it similar in all positions?

Based on several anecdotes here it's not unusual for new watches to adjust a bit after some "break-in" and keeping time within one second is excellent by any standard.

Using an App.. but: losing 0,5s in the first 5 days is -0,1s/day and losing 1,5sec in 5 days = 0,3s/day

I guess so, not too worried about the -0,8s/day (now) but more that the watch loses 8x as much per day in the last 5 days vs. the first 5 days...

If that continues it will be at 6 hours / day in a 3 months :)

I've yet to use a measuring app that can actually measure watches that accurately, regardless of what kinds of numbers they spit out.

Not using timegrapher but NTP synched app... measurements pretty steady day-by-day and these are the averages over 5 days (lost total ~0.5 the first 5 days, lost ~1.1 the next 5 days, ~2.0 the next 5 days and ~3.8 the last 5 days.)

So I guess it is the break-in... I hope it stops "breaking in" soon :)

X2 If he's using an app, its margin of error is likely larger than the reported difference in timekeeping altogether.

Fair enough, It did loose 9 seconds since I set it compared to time.gov in the last 22 days. I wasn't stressing about .2 more or less on a single measurement (that is user inaccuracy anyways) but over 5 days or 20 days it should average out.

I will stop obsessing, and be happy with the sub 1 second...

funny, i thought my new SubC was losing time. I started checking it regularly, almost neurotically some may say. It seemed to be keeping with my iphone just fine. I picked up my ipad and discovered that IT was in fact losing time, not the watch

+/-7 seconds is about right. You can always get it check at a RSC.

I would be happy with what you got once it loses more time then i would take it in
