UPS lost my rolex
Ok, I still trying to keep this thread alive. I just want advice from people how to get UPS to help me get my rolex back. It has been 6 days now through the mail and nothing. The status of the pack is "exception" and it was scanned in the store ready for pick up leaving Chandler AZ coming to Midland TX. Any advice how to get UPS to find or refund my money from my package or even find my package?

And yesterday was the first day they asked me to email them a copy of my receipt of the rolex.

everyone has been informative and I am hoping someone has been through this experience has advice. I have had to deal with insurance companies before but never like this. And to note, the shipper of the watch is NOT being very helpful, so I really can't get anywhere with him. Ironically, the UPS store in Chandler I am having issues with, has 5 bad google reviews about him. But he wrote a good one to try and counter his many bad ones.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED that beautiful rolex datejust watch. And now I have nothing. It had all the paperwork with it to and original box from the original jewelry store. This. Is. Depressing.

Lol. Give it up! Your previous thread got closed. Pursuing this will end up getting you banned from the forums. Your story seems fishy at best.

When I started writing on here, people gave me really good advice. Like Bernard watch has special packing tape, so that was what I was looking for. Some guy wrote that they have a limit to their insurance so that was interesting to know. But I don't believe that.

If you're already exchanging information with UPS, there's not much else that you can do other than keep pursuing through the correct channels.
What I would suggest is that you save every email that you send and receive. Also, keep a record of the date and time of every phone call, the full name of every person you speak to and at which call centre they're based. Other than that, I'm not sure what else you can do.

I thought I would keep everyone in the loop as to if I got my watch back or what happened. People seemed interested to know this. But I apologize if I am on the wrong website for advice. I will find a different Rolex lost in the mail website. Thanks!

And when I started researching UPS lost my rolex, I noticed others on here had mailing issues too. I guess cause I am new, no one knew me. Doesn't make my story less important or true. Thanks

If the package was sent through UPS and there is insurance on the package then you will be covered. They have to provide proof of delivery and even more there is a burden of proof since signature is required.
The plus is that you are right at the $5000 limit for small claims court so if this goes south it will be fairly easy (usually sub $40 filing fee) to take them to court. There the burden of proof will be on UPS to prove the item was delivered. The plus on your side is that they would never allow this to go that far as they know without proof of delivery they have no leg to stand on. What's surprising is that you had your 78 year old father go through all this hassle to save a couple bucks in tax !?!? That's the part of this story that just doesn't make sense. $5000 item and heck I'll use NYC's tax of 8.875% equals $443.75 in tax. Then you incur the cost of shipping the item insured for $5000 etc. Doesn't make sense. Penny wise, dollar foolish.

I really hope no one else has this experience with UPS because if you do, it is one of the most horrific, mind blowing, exhausting, defeating experiences someone will ever endure. Just wanted advice

I help my dad with real estate rentals and he was paying some of the stuff for me. Shipping, a portion of the watch stuff etc. I think $400 is a lot of money and trust me, I would NEVER do this again after this horrific experience. I think I made the biggest mistake involving my dad and now I am just trying like hell to figure out how to get UPS off of dead center. UPS is trying to turn it around too like I got the watch was the new thing yesterday from them. I think that is great advice that they have the burden of proof. Maybe I need to consult an attorney and when is the best time to do that?

TX tax is around that amount too. Taxes here are expensive. I was planing on buying myself a $400 ring from Nordstrom with the tax money I saved. Guess that won't be happening.

I just wondering when I should get an attorney involved? Do I have to wait until the ups investigation is over? Or should I get on it faster? And UPS has given me 5 different investigation closing dates too. Pushed all of them out. Last one quoted as Dec. 1

One UPS person told me it will be over 6 weeks. Because apparently, the claim will take even longer.

You can engage a lawyer whenever you want. It may not be economical for a $5,000 claim, but if you're really mad then go for it.

Couldn't I go for more than $5000 since I would want UPS to pay my lawyer expenses etc?
And would an attorney take my case or should I wait till investigation over? |

You should consult an attorney. They would probably call UPS or send a letter on your behalf. You may have entered a contract with UPS that demands arbitration in lieu of a suit, or that demands a period of time pass before filing suit.

Sim, I assume it's lost in transit coming back to you from a service. First off, let Rolex themselves work on it if that's the case. There are several Rolex Service Centers well spaced geographically in the U.S. including one in Dallas. You get a watch back looking brand new if that's your desire, completely serviced with new gaskets and usually a new crown tube, as well as a two year warranty. You might try rolexforums.com. Live and learn. I collect subs and gmts and I would never send one of mine through the mail. And official RSCs are the only techs who will ever service one of mine. Good luck getting your heirloom back.
