Winding my 116610 ?
"To wind or not to wind " that is the question ? Is keeping my new Rolex 116610 in a winder when not being worn a good idea ? Is it something that has positive long term effects ? Or am I being overly cautious ? What are the merits of my "uber-care" ?

I may be wrong but that particular watch doesn't have too many complications. IMO, watch winders are convenient for complicated watches where setting them up takes time.
IF you timepiece is limited to time and date, then it's not really necessary. I also don't like running something I am not using. |

Depends on how much hassle you consider setting the time

There's about one hundred threads on this.
It's fine if you want to keep it on it winder so it's ready to go when you want to wear it. Some people like to set the time/date when they pick up their watch, I'm not one of those people. I prefer to grab and go which is why I got a winder in the first place.

Thanks for confirming I'm not the only person enjoying this routine.

I like a watch winder for the convenience. Not all my watches stay on a winder. I also enjoy winding a watch and setting the date (occasionally).
You will get the usual folks come along in a bit that despise watch winders for some reason and just say to use your wrist. It's really your choice. |

Use one if it is convenient to you; you will have no more or less wear than if you wore it continuously - as they are made to do. However, a watch that is running all the time is wearing itself out - one that is stopped is incurring zero wear.
