Factory diamond dial

Hi

Does anyone know how much a champagne diamond dial for a DD 118238 would cost from Rolex. Is there a way I can find out? Do I just call a Rolex AD or do I have to call a RSC and ask them for a price over the phone?

Is this a bad idea to change out the dial? Does the warrenty card show what dial was on the watch? Will a RSC work on a watch even if the serial number doesn't match the dial configuration? I want to keep it all Rolex factory that's why I'm asking.

I have a good deal on a DD 118238 but I personally don't like the dial on it.

Rolex will work on it as long as the watch had that option originally, if they do it they will likely make a computer note these days also. Price was 2.5- 3k. Some original dials are available through other trusted sources cheaper btw.

2.5K for the dial. Wow, thats way more than i was thinking. Does the warranty card have the dial on type on the card?

With new style warranty card (since about 1 year) the dial descrption is printed most of time.

For old style card, most have it if the watch was initially sold in the US , but don't have it if watch comes from elsewhere in the world.

On warranty paper (before cards, up to 2006 roughly), a dial code is indicated in the US but not in the rest of the world.

The card will show the original dial, but like it was mentioned it won't matter if the dial you swap is for was originally an option for that reference.

Just google this: dial type on rolex warranty card

i guess its not a problem as i will have the original dial with the watch to put it back on if someone prefers to have it match the warranty card when being sold.

If you source it through the RSC you might want to double check that. Sometimes Rolex will keep your original parts.
