Icon20 Torrey Pines receives 9ft Tower Rolex Clock

I found this to be interesting....

Torrey Pines’ Receives a Complimentary Rolex Clock
Torrey Pines, host of the 2008 US Open Golf Tournament, recently received its complimentary 9-foot tower clock from Rolex.

The impressive Rolex clock was installed on a new concrete path between the putting greens in front of the Torrey Pines clubhouse. Currently, there are seasonal poinsettias in the surrounding planter. These poinsettias will most likely be replaced by more festive flowers during the June US Open golf tournament.

In addition to the complimentary Rolex clock that Torrey Pines received for hosting the US Open, there will be a second clock that will be installed between the first tees of the North and South courses. Generally, each tournament host only receives one Rolex clock.

The green Rolex clock is a classic and legendary beauty. Its 2˝-foot face lights up at night, and inscribed above and below it is “Torrey Pines” and “Est. 1957.” The clock will be maintained for life by Rolex.
Next time your on the putting green at Torrey Pines, be sure to pay your respects to the new landmark.

I wish I had a clock like that in my living room. What a way to greet all the guests that enter!

Great shot!! Wish I coulda been there for the tourney! I've played it about a dozen times...love the course...love it even more now that they have a rolex clock tower!

Sure would suck having to pack that rolex for the 5 yr service at RSC!

Do I really want to stare at a clock while I'm teeing off? Doesn't it make it feel rushed?

I'd love to see someone tee off with a driver into that dial Rolex might then have to put on a bullet proof crystal

I wonder if there is a clock like that at the Interlachen course here in Edina, MN for the US Women's Open next week?

Those clocks are present at many high end golf courses that I have played at. Just in the last few months, I have seen them at Riviera, Lake Tahoe, Oak Hill, Spyglass, Pebble Beach, Winged Foot.
Usually away from the first tee but in a high traffic area.
