Looking to purchase for my first watch.

1. is this worth it?
2. whats it worth?
3. looks fake?
4. what would you pay?
5. How much would this have been brand new in 04?

Has an insurance document - whatever that is worth

David, I was thinking the same thing. You should be able to find that model for under 2k USD.

uk and usa prices are different ,,, by quite a margin.
think the insurance value is tinting the price a bit though.

Can anyone answer what the most is they would pay for it (or what you think its worth paying maximum). As thinking whether to look for brand new instead of used.

Thanks all.

This is a 2004 15200?

A new 115200 is about 4200 GBP according to the 2012 UK minus4plus6 price list. Insurance valuing a '2004' at 5200 pounds seems a bit inflated to me.

Thank you Abdullah, at first I didn't realise how cheap brand new can be, 4k is a lot but when comparing to a 10 year old used one, its worth the extra cash. Are prices in Abu Dhabi cheaper than over her in the UK?

MSRP here is the same. Typical discount on a SS model is 12%. No sales tax here, but I believe you will owe something when you return to the UK. Best to check on your import obligation to the EU before deciding to buy overseas.

What is the most you would pay for this as it is, if it had minimal scratches/marks? bear in mind I may pay to get it serviced after buying?

Indeed the new price for the 115200 in the UK is 4200 pounds brand new
with a smooth bezel.
In the rest of Europe the same model sells for around 5400 euro or 3,850 pounds
and in the US the price is 6300 dollars or 4200 pounds like in the UK

The most expensive is the watch with the US price because the other two prices (UK & EU)
include the 20% (approx.) sales tax which is about 840 pounds or 1250 dollars.
If you add the average US sales tax of 8% on the US price (which you should)
then the total US price is an extraterrestrial $1.750 MORE - a lot of money
it almost pays for a 750 ticket to fly to Italy or Germany and buy it there tax free
plus have a nice weekend in a foreign country.

Anyway most of you do not worry about all that... back to this post
...so the Ref: 15210 with the BS/Insurance appraisal sold for 2100 pounds (?)
or around 3050 dollars (?) which is half price from the new price in the UK
I do prefer the "Royal" bezel so perhaps its ok to pay a small premium
especially now that is out of production. So what the buyer paid is around $350
higher than what one could have bought this 15210 here in the US.

Yesterday I turned down a fine example but "naked" for $2600 dollars
from a dealer in the Aventura international jewelry exchange near Miami.

You could have bought these for less than $2000 last year, but these days are gone for ever
and the norm now for a dealer is to pay $2200 dollars...if he wants it
I sold one with acrylic crystal 3 months ago for $2100.

The reason for the higher prices (?)...Too many have become watch dealers willing to pay
more than average in order to stock watches for the retail clients..plus
Rolex is much stricter with new stock so no sport Rolex watches available
...and.. the used product does not exist (I guess buyers keep them longer) - no watches out there.

thanks for the detailed response TempoKing, I really do like fluted/royal bezel (if Royal is the name of this example's bezel), not a fan of plain as looks empty to me.

1. What is the most I should pay for this example in UK pounds (i can convert if you give dollars)
2. If this was your watch, what is the least you would sell it for?
