Welcome to the forum.

You have asked a question not uncommon to many new collectors of vintage Rolex, "Did my watch originally come with a matte dial or a gloss dial?" Over the years collectors have come up with "guidelines" to answer that question. Keep in mind these are guidelines and nothing is set in stone.

I think many people would agree that for the 16750 the transition for matte to gloss occurred in the 8.3 to 8.4 mil range. The collectors who favor a narrow window prefer to see the matte dials in the 16750 not beyond the 8.4 mil range, while other collectors favoring a more broad range feel that the matte dial in the 16750 under 9 mil serial is acceptable. I tend to favor a narrow window, that's just me.

Your watch with a 6.2 mil serial would likely be 1979 and would be about 5 years before the gloss dials were even produced. So with certainty it can be said that it originally came with a matte dial.

Hope this helps.
