YG DD40 or WG Smurf
Def going after one of these baby's mid march.
Initially wanted the DD40 in YG as I've been craving a presidential bracelet in yellow for some time now. I'm 30 years old and although the DD is usually seen on older gents, I can't help but want one. I do however alrdy have a YG Daytona in my collection and have no intention of moving it. Suddenly two weeks ago i'm bit by the Smurf bug and have been looking at pictures and threads since. I love the stealthiness it has vs. something loud and in your face like a YG Day Date 40. But I love the classic Presidential Yellow Gold, here I am look of the YG DD. I do have a SS Sub C as well with which I don't want to part with either. I will be moving the DSSD to make room for my next one. Thoughts?

Smurf for me out of these two. If we had been talking Platinum DD40 then that would be VERY different.

I would go with the YG DD40. I am not a fan of Subs in any way, shape, or form.

Tough call! Both are fantastic models. Make sure you try on the DD40 as it doesn't have micro adjustments so you may have to wear it a little looser than normal (unless you want to pay for a 1.25 link or two). The WG Sub has the fantastic glidelock clasp that you're obviously used to. In my experience the glidelock clasp is even more useful with PM watches because of the weight.

I think the new DD 40 looks stunning, but I'm a sports watch guy at heart. I'd get the sub first.

Not to high jack the thread, but I seem to recall that Rolex had a patent pending on some sort of adjustment for the president braclet I wonder if that's ever going to come to pass. |

Day Date. It's THE gold Rolex icon, not a gussied-up version of a SS model, and the bracelet is indeed crave worthy. Pure class.

I'm more of a sports watch guy, but I think given your collection, the DD40. And I would go silver dial.

Like you said you already have a YG Daytona ...
Smurf all the way!!! But the DD 40 is gorgeous .... If you didn't have the YG Daytona I'd say DD 40 with champaigne or silver dial first !!! BTW both of those dials are stunning ... But since you already have a YG piece I would get The Smurf Sub!!!! |

DD40 but make it a YG sunburst blue and perhaps different answer even as owner of both.

Of the two I'd go with DD40....Have you considered the 116719 BLRO?

To me the DD40 is the one. I find the smurf substantially less appealing.
