One of my favorite dealers in Tokyo has one for approximately $17,500 USD at this moment. They are a bit tough to find around here. The non-green Milgauss models are much closer to MSRP but still well above.

There was one on eBay a while ago. I believe the BIN price was 20 K.

Someone was trying to sell one in the for sale section of this forum. I'm not sure if he sold it yet though. Check his price.

I am sure its a GV Version 116400 GV Purchased from mappin & Webb London march 2008, would accept £6500.00 for it.
Which is a good price I think. regards mark |

They are available in EUROPE big time.
The Authorised dealer price is 5100 to 5150 euros for the 116400GV, depending of the country, the gray dealer to dealer price is 7000 euro, they try for 10k 9k 8k 7.5k euro, but there are no takers. In a few days I am going to a watch show there and I will let you know what they are they trading for. There are always around Fifty (50) SS Daytonas, 50 Millgauses regular and 20-30 Green Glass AVAILABLE. Other models..?...do not even go there..most return home with them unless they sell at a realistically low prices. |

yes sorry I should have said, I sold the GV for 6950 GBP but it was not pre owned, well it was but it had never been out of the box. Not bad as I got 19% off the list price. I also sold a white face Milgauss for 3300 GBP however that cost me 81GBP in ebay fees. |

GV value
Had an interesting conversation the other day with some of the dealers in Burlington Arcade in London about Milgauss values, particularly the GV ones. Their view was generally that the GV price is a temporary bubble and it will come down over time once the numbers of watches in circulation increases - they have been artificially restricted due to the production problems(now resolved) so the taps should soon open. In fact, two AD's close to me have both had GV's through in their last months delivery from Rolex.
Darren Reay has been trying to sell a GV on ebay for quite some time now for £8k and it keeps getting relisted....so either he has multiple watches and is selling them at this price and just relists for ease of ebay effort, or he ain't getting 8K for them. There have also been a few private ones on there in the 7-7.5K range which don't ever seem to attract bids. So, I'd say if you were to sell it to Duggan or somebody in Burlington Arcade that you would get about 5.5-6K for it, and on a private sale somewhere between 6.5-7K....though I also had one of the Burlington boys tell me that they wouldnt sell a GV at current prices to any valued, regular customers because they think they will be worth a lot less than that over time and don't represent a good investment at current prices. Personally I love it and will only buy a watch if I like it (though do try also to buy ones that would be easily liquidated and return me most all of their purchase price if I needed money in a hurry)....though won't every pay over list. Better use of your money is to buy watches at RRP from an AD to strike up a relationship with them, then get the rare ones at list e.g. why spend 7K on a S/S Daytona and 7K on a GV when you could buy, say a GMTIIc for 3.5K, a Turnograph for 3.5, something else for c. 3.5K, and then get them to give you one or both of the above for list?! You'd end up with more watches this way, and access to more watches as a result of being on the regular customer list at your AD!

It should easily find a buyer at £5,750.
Who knows, next year £4,000 - £4,500?

I agree with everyone...wouldn't pay over list. I think people on ebay are selling it for double the price because they are hoping to catch someone who is over eager and not willing to wait a couple of months to save thousands of dollars or is falling for the hype that this watch will always be difficult to find. Just like new model cars, when they first come out people will pay a premium to be the first to own it, but after a few months, the price will settle. If you can find someone to buy it now and make some profit then go for it because in a few months you'll be able to find another one. I would just feel bad for the people buying it for double the actual cost.

I think the window of time you have to maximize your profit is closing. Decide to keep it or sell it ASAP.
No reason it should sell for a profit once the supply chain of green crystals improves if it hasn't already. |
