Russell-
Congrats on a true classic. I, myself am a bit of a convert......never saw myself as a Daytona (always admired the sub/gmtlook and feel) owner but after some extensive research and finally seeing it in the flesh and trying it on....BAM......I finally "GET IT"! The Daytonas are awesome watches. I also prefer the 5 digit Zenith white dial and it says hello.................... |

But big watches have been around for many decades. And if you look around today, they are everywhere. Go into nearly any watch store and the majority of watches are on the larger side. Today, men's watches smaller than 39mm are probably in the minority by a large percentage. For me personally, 39 - 42 is my sweet spot. And a small 39 or a large 42 just don't do it for me. But as a whole, while some people such as yourself are gravitating towards smaller more classical designs, it appears that in the grand scheme of things that's just not the case. On the topic itself, the Daytona might just be a perfect sized piece as it really fits in the middle. Not big or small really. It's kind of in the sweet spot of you ask me.
