I've bought as many from ads as trusted sellers. When I have time to drive to my preferred AD (1.5 hrs) I often go that route. When I want to make a trade or simply want a watch overnighted to me I go with David or thanh. I think of them as amazon prime for watches.

If you buy from a grey dealer there are no guarantees on warranty from Rolex. As far as resizing you do not need a warranty card to bring your watch in. I would also let them know please dip not hack my watch up In the process of removing a simple screw. You really should just buy your own screw driver though because ad's always screw up watches.

Anyone can go to a store and buy a watch. Buying from a trusted seller means you've done your homework, you came to the forum and your knowledge increased dramatically and the large discount you got came from your own job well done. That works for me.

Buying from a trusted seller questions

I've purchased both from my AD as well as trusted sellers here (DavidSW, and Patrick (Ocrolexguy) - and I would highly recommend them both.

(There are other great sellers as well-- Takuya, etc.)

The communications with both of them are amazing - and you get EXACTLY what you're expecting to get.

For me -- its VERY similar to buying from an AD - with additional savings.

Don't be concerned with 'where' the piece comes from i.e. US or Europe -- they all come from the same factories. And a warranty is a warranty.

These guys are SOLID - as I know MANY others on here will echo. You shouldn't worry about anything when buying from these guys.

Good luck!! And enjoy the quest!!

I have delt with several here from davidsw to alexcollector to harrisons.brilliance, and had NO issues. Should any of them have something I am in the market for I will not think twice to purchase again.

Thank god I bought from a trusted seller rather than an AD, it saved me a few grand which paid for the vacation. Lord knows she would have really flipped if I had spent even more and couldn't take her away for a week at the same time..........aw...those were the good old days. Lol

Ahhh I was looking for this thread and finally found it lol

Thank you all for your input. It seems the trusted sellers here are just as good or even better (in terms of $) than AD. I am just a little concerned in terms of getting a watch from outside the US b/c NYC RSC has been giving people a hard time (check out the thread in the other sub forum). No worries though - plenty of trusted sellers carry US AD watches. I will just keep an eye out for one of those pieces.

Now whether to get a DSSD vs SD4k?!! Hmmm I tried on both and the DSSD was definitely chunkier, but it felt fine. I know overall it is a better built watch. Such a tough decision!
