Can't decide between a Datejust 36mm stainless blue dial fluted bezel (not sure of the ref number) or a 116300. I like the classic look of the 36mm but I also like the size and smooth bezel of the 116300 although I'm not sure it'll look ok on my wrist and I'm worried about seeing every single small scratch. Any suggestions for a first time buyer? Thank youuu

Large vs standard size; PCL's, smooth vs fluted. Nothing here that everyone hasn't had to wrestle with.
I like the fluted bezel, not crazy about the blue dial, prefer brushed bracelet. And 36mm fits my 7 in wrist just fine.
Personal choice, good luck.

Much prefer the 41mm size over the 36mm. But, that's a personal choice.

Your statement of not being sure how it would look on your wrist implies you haven't tried one on...that would by your first order of business if you're considering buying it.

Im also new to Rolex. I purchased a daytona and the pcl gets scratched a lot. But i got used to it. And once you get service after a few years youll get it back like its brand new.

Just to echo the comment, make sure you try on the DJ and DJII before deciding.

Agree with everyone here, go try them all on, do not RUSH your purchase, go alone, take your time. The AD people are very understanding & don't expect you to buy on the 1st visit. Take photos with your cell phone of the various looks on your wrist. At the end of the day the purchase will be your taste, your hard spent money & others will appreciate the choice you made because it was "your style".

the fluted bezel has nice pop & also done in white 18K gold, which means you will always have that shine. The smooth is more understated, classic & subtle. You have to decide which style echoes your personal style.

Try them on, take photos & good luck- remember don't Rush.

Try the, both on. Also depends on the size of your wrist. I tried the DJII and found it too big on my 7" wrist.
Personally I prefer the 36mm, although I wish it were a 37.5-38mm.

But you got a try them on and get whichever sings to you!

I actually did go to a dealer near me and I tried on both, of course I forget what they look like on me the second I walk out the door. I'll go back and take pics with them on my wrist. I definitely like 41mm but I'm not sure if it looks too big on my 7 inch wrist. Thanks for the advice

Congrats on that DJ II, that's my favourite dial the blue stick. At least with this addiction you will have something to show for on your wrist unlike others where money down the drain.

Great watch! Watches always look much bigger on your wrist in pictures. You have to look in the mirror to really see how it looks. I love the DJII

Only going from experience and the 116300 is a beauty and the size is great but my wristvis also 7.75" so depends on the wrist i guess.Both are great so just go big or small.

Save up for the tattoos and just buy the Rolex.

My blue face rarely gets worn. I don't prefer blue as a daily wear watch but I can see color does not bother u.
