Great point Cru. I think when it is a new member or a young one we are pretty responsible and urge caution and the enjoying of what you have, but when the member's been around a bit then we happily go to town on their wallets and credit ratings!

If I had plenty of cash I'd be doing it all the while. Today's 'grail' watch, car, clothes normally becomes buyer's remorse or "not really suiting me now" in time. I've not worn my 'grails' (watches and clothes) for months now and I need to move them one, trouble is I can't decide what the 'grail' for the next 2 years will be! Still happy with the 'grail' car, but it is only 12 months old.

Got more than 1% of your net worth in Rolexes at this point? If yes, you might want to slow down--my perspective for what it's worth.

As long as you can afford it and are buying for the right reasons, then have at it. I am not convinced a price increase is the best reason to buy. If the OP is adamant that the DD 40 will be part of his collection one day and can afford it to buy, then get it now. If there is doubt, then wait. OP sent a PM to me and I will respond to him soon. |

I think you should buy 4 or 5 different DD40 and use them a litle around the house to get a feel for which ones to keep. Then it's patek and AP and before summer you are on to RM, that is if you doc haven't upped the lithium ;-)
Happy hunting ;-) |

DD40 is an amazing watch. If you have the fund I would do it.

I want to thank everyone for their honest opinions and replies. The consensus is that I should slow down and enjoy the three watches that I currently have, and I completely agree. Also, what I presently state is my grail watch may change in the future. As mentioned by a few members, half or more of the fun in obtaining a grail watch is the research, reading threads in this forum, comparing to different watch brands, etc. So for now, I will heed the advice of most members and slow down, but no promises

Will see how long that lasts! the only way is to stay away from here. This place pulls you in directions you never thought of.

If it's still your grail then you should still get it.
