I agree that the designs are less than inspiring. Its too bad really. Also, why on earth does GS make a $4100 quartz dive watch and who is buying it? I also don't know if there is much aftermarket demand for Grand Seiko, while I know there is for Rolex. I got my sub for about a 10% discount 3 years ago and its nice to know that I could sell it now for about what I paid for it. Even though I likely won't sell. I still like the knowledge that I didn't really "spend" my money, I'm just wearing it on my wrist. I think its hilarious how people think buying a new Lexus SUV for $50,000 that depreciates $10,000 in the first year is a reasonable purchase, while they find buying an $8,000 watch that will depreciate very little in a decade an outrageous luxury purchase. In any case back to the topic of Rolex not being perfect, I'v never watched my date change, however last time I timed my watch it was less than 10 seconds fast over a week. I guess I got one of the "good ones." |
